GAGANTING
ZAMBOANGA CITY – A businessman, the son of a barangay councilwoman and a most wanted person, surrendered to authorities here on Thursday, Sept. 4, for shooting a councilman in Barangay Tumaga in May.
The suspect, Alvin Abas Gaganting, 42, was accompanied by his mother, Carolina.
Alvin was arrested on a warrant for frustrated murder issued on Sept. 2.
The court recommended a P200,000 bail for Alvin.
Alvin allegedly shot Jake Fabian, a councilman of Barangay Tumaga, while he was on his way home past on board a motorcycle last May.
