P110M emergency support to aid disaster-hit Calabarzon families, DOLE says

Thousands of families in Calabarzon (Region IV-A) affected by the southwest monsoon (habagat) and typhoons Crising, Dante, and Emong are set to receive P110.7 million in emergency employment and livelihood assistance from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
The aid, implemented by DOLE CALABARZON in coordination with local government units and partner agencies, aims to provide immediate income to displaced workers while helping communities rebuild sustainable livelihoods.
Of the total allocation, P98.96 million is designated for the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) program, which will cover 12,120 individuals.
Beneficiaries are set to participate in 10-day community-based work initiatives such as clean-up and rehabilitation activities, receiving pay based on the region’s highest prevailing minimum wage.
By province, Batangas will receive the largest share of P38.46 million for 6,442 beneficiaries, followed by Rizal with P24.52 million for 1,105 residents and Quezon with P18.64 million for 1,668 individuals.
Cavite will receive P8.91 million for 1,492 workers, while Laguna will get P8.44 million for 1,413 beneficiaries.
An additional P11.78 million has been earmarked under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) to support 1,168 recipients in establishing or enhancing income-generating projects that will aid their recovery and long-term resilience.
