Man climbs LED screen wall in QC

A man climbed up the wall of a LED screen at the intersection of Mindanao Avenue and Quirino Highway in Quezon City on Friday, September 5, prompting a two-hour rescue operation by authorities.

According to the report, the man was first seen walking along the intersection when traffic enforcers and officers approached him. 

He then climbed the LED structure, drawing the attention of motorists and passersby.

Members of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and Quezon City Rescue responded at the scene. 

As a safety precaution, rescuers laid mats at the tunnel along Mindanao Avenue in the event that the man would jump. 

Negotiators engaged him for about two hours before he was eventually secured. 

Authorities said he resisted when being brought down, forcing officers to restrain him with handcuffs.

The incident caused heavy traffic in the area.
