Looks like Senator Panfilo "Ping" Lacson's mentorship of Batangas 1st district Rep. Leandro Legarda Leviste has begun.
In a Facebook post on Thursday night, Sept. 4 a beaming Legarda Leviste shared that he finally visited the veteran lawmaker's office. Suffice it to say, it was worth the wait.
"Ngayong araw, binisita ni Congressman Leandro Legarda Leviste ang opisina ni Senador Ping Lacson, na nagbahagi ng kaniyang payo mula sa kaniyang malalim na karanasan kung paano matutukoy at malalabanan ang katiwalian sa gobyerno," read the post from the neophyte congressman's team.
(Today, Congressman Leandro Legarda Leviste visited the office of Senator Ping Lacson, who shared his advice drawn from his deep experience on how to identify and combat corruption in government.)
"Maraming salamat po kay Senador Ping Lacson sa pagkakataon na ito at sa kaniyang tapat na paglilingkod sa bayan. Malaking tulong ito sa ating patuloy na laban para sa tamang paggamit ng pera ng taumbayan," it added.

Legarda Leviste, son of Senator Loren Legarda, grabbed headlines last month by rejecting a million-peso bribe from a Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) district engineer. Not only that, he had the engineer arrested by police in an entrapment operation.
Senator Legarda told Lacson beforehand that her son wanted to meet him so that he could attain more knowledge on how to spot corruption in government.
Lacson is known for his hardline stance against corruption, especially shenanigans with public funds. Meaning, Legarda Leviste is in good hands.
