Classes suspended in NCR cities due to inclement weather
Classes were suspended in all levels, both in public and private schools, in several cities in the National Capital Region (NCR) due to inclement weather.
The following areas have declared class suspensions:
- Marikina City (all levels, public and private)
- Caloocan City (all levels, public and private)
- Municipality of Pateros (child development centers to senior high school, public and private)
- Malabon City (all levels, public and private)
- Las Piñas City (all levels, public and private)
- Parañaque City (all levels, public and private)
- San Juan City (all levels, public and private)
- Pasig City (kinder to senior high school)
- Cainta, Rizal (all levels, public and private)
- Santa Maria, Bulacan (day care to senior high school)
- Hagonoy, Bulacan (kinder to senior high school)
- Quezon City - afternoon classes for public schools from kindergarten to Grade 12, including child development centers and Alternative Learning System (ALS).
The city governments advised residents to stay alert and take the necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
Pateros Mayor Gerald German suspended face-to-face classes due to the forecast of bad weather brought about by the southwest monsoon (habagat).
“Dahil sa inaasahang pabugsu-bugsong malalakas na pag-ulan at masamang panahon dulot ng Southwest Monsoon o Habagat sa Kalakhang Maynila kasama ang Munisipalidad ng Pateros ayon sa PAGASA, ay dinedeklara ang pagpapaliban ng klase mula Child Development Centers, Elementary, Junior at Senior High Schools sa lahat ng pampubliko at pribadong mga paaralan sa Bayan ng Pateros ngayon 05 Setyembre 2025 (Due to the expected heavy rains and bad weather caused by the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat in Metro Manila including the Municipality of Pateros according to PAGASA, the postponement of classes from Child Development Centers, Elementary, Junior and Senior High Schools in all public and private schools in the Town of Pateros is declared today, 05 September 2025),” German announced in a post on Facebook by the official Pateros page at 5:21 a.m.
He said public schools are expected to use the Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) in teaching classes.
German urged the public to monitor weather reports, avoid going into floodwaters and stay indoors as much as possible, prepare emergency supplies, and fully charge their cellphones and flashlights.
