BAGUIO CITY – A pregnant woman and a 17-year-old student were killed in landslides during heavy rains in in Mankayan, Benguet and Tabuk City, Kalinga, on Wednesday, Sept. 3.

Police said the victims were Ivy Khate Ogues Dizon, 18, eight-months pregnant, of Barangay Guinaoang, Mankayan, and a Grade 11 student from Barangay Bulanao, Tabuk City.
Dizon was sleeping in her house when the nearby riprap wall suddenly collapsed and buried her under soil and debris.
Authorities recovered her body and taken to a hospital in Buguias, Benguet where she was declared dead.
The victim from Tabuk City was in his room when the mountain on the side of his house suddenly collapsed. The victim’s mother got his youngest sibling managed to flee but he was left in his room and buried alive.
He was recovered and taken to a hospital where was declared dead.
