The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) vows to continue its mission of strengthening its grassroots programs and give the national athletes the support they badly need.
In a first-ever Sports Stakeholders Forum at Solaire on Tuesday, Sept. 2, PSC Chairman Patrick Gregorio discussed the agency's platforms to key individuals and organizations and made it known their intention of putting the best foot forward toward progress and sustainability.
“We will not stop, we will continue to run and we will continue to explore other opportunities… just do this as soon as possible, sayang ang panahon,” said Gregorio.
“We’re really running, making sure we’ll address all concerns from allowance to track suit to good food… everything is planned, scheduled and everything will happen,” he added.
In front of executives and sponsors, Gregorio tackled multiple plans which included their flagship programs and infrastructure projects, sports value chain empowerment, sports tourism, digital transformation, and sports foundation.
He insisted that partnerships with private corporations are vital in keeping sports a priority.
“I’m very happy, the people in sports are here, this how it should be, and definitely it wouldn’t be the first and last,” Gregorio continued.
"We'll do our best to give the athletes what they truly deserve," he added.
Sen. Migz Zubiri, PBA chairman Ricky Vargas, volleyball president Tats Suzara, basketball chief Al Panlilio and executive director Erika Dy, gymnastics president Cynthia Carrion were among the several sports leaders present in the gathering.
