The Eastern Police District (EPD) arrested three men, including two of the region’s alleged most notorious drug personalities, during a buy-bust operation in Pasig City on Monday, Sept. 1.
EPD identified the two as “Arwin,” 43, ranked No. 5, and “Julio,” 34, ranked No. 9 on the Regional High-Value Individual (HVI) drug list. Also arrested was their cohort, “Karlo,” 37.
The suspects were arrested following a verified intelligence report and pre-operation coordination.
Operatives from the District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) carried out the operation at around 8:40 p.m. in Barangay Pinagbuhatan.
Authorities seized four heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, weighing approximately 21.30 grams and estimated at P144,840, along with seven P1,000 bills used as buy-bust money.
The suspects were brought to the EPD custodial facility and will face charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
EPD District Director Brig. Gen. Aden Lagradante said the operation reflects the unit’s ongoing efforts against illegal drugs.
“This is a decisive blow against drug personalities operating in the Metro East. The EPD's dauntless commitment to ensure public safety. Our message is loud and clear—illegal drugs will not thrive in our communities. We are coming for you,” he said.
“The successful arrest of three drug personalities speaks more about the dedication and courage of our anti-drug operatives. Let this be a warning to all involved in the illegal drug trade—your days are numbered,” Lagradante added.
