A 76-year-old British national was arrested after his live-in partner filed a physical abuse complaint against him in Pasay City on September 1.
Col. Joselito De Sesto, Pasay City Police chief, identified the suspect as Michael, a tourist, and temporarily staying in an establishment in Barangay 76.
The suspect was arrested at around 4:40 p.m. upon the complaint of his live-in partner, Myra, 45, who claimed that the man assaulted her after confronting him for having a mistress.
Myra, from Matnog, Sorsogon, told police that she went to the place of the suspect to fetch her 13-year-old son, who had just arrived from the United Kingdom.
The victim said that when she arrived at the suspect’s place, she found Michael with a mistress who immediately left after seeing her. A heated argument ensued between her and the suspect.
Myra added that their son pacified their fight after seeing that she was being choked and hit on the head by the suspect.
De Sesto said members of the Pasay City Police Substation 10 in Mall of Asia (MOA) turned over the suspect to the Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD). He was charged for violating Republic Act 9262 (The Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004).
