911 call leads to arrest of Chinese national for robbery in Pasay City

A Chinese national was arrested for robbing his compatriots of P15,000 cash after a call was made through the 911 emergency hotline in Pasay City on September 2.
Pasay City Police Chief Col. Joselito De Sesto said the suspect, identified as Li, 37, was arrested after a call was received through the 911 emergency hotline by members of the Pasay City Police Substation 10.
De Sesto said the victim, identified as Songhao, 33, was reportedly kidnapped and detained by two Chinese nationals inside a condominium unit along MOA Complex, Barangay 76, Pasay City, at around 9:30 p.m. on September 1.
He said Songhao was able to alert his friend, Zhan, also a Chinese national, claiming that he was kidnapped and detained by Li and a companion after robbing him of P15,000 cash.
The city police said Pasay City Police Substation 10 received the call at 1:44 a.m. on September 2, and immediately conducted a rescue operation. However, the victim had already escaped from Li and his companion and was just waiting for his friends.
De Sesto said investigation showed that the suspects entered the condominium unit of the victim and, with force and intimidation, robbed him of P15,000 cash.
He said the suspect was arrested inside his condominium. Recovered from him were an electric taser and a knife, while his companion was able to elude arrest.
The suspect was turned over to the Pasay City Police Investigation and Detective Management Section after his arrest and was charged with robbery.
