262 wanted persons, crime suspects nabbed in another 24-hour anti-crime sweep in Metro Manila
Operatives of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) arrested a total of 262 people in another 24-hour anti-crime operation across Metro Manila starting Tuesday morning, Sept. 3.
NCRPO director Maj. Gen. Anthony A. Aberin said those arrested include those involved in illegal drugs with 46 arrests, and illegal gambling with 72 arrests.
He said those arrested also include 73 wanted persons. Nine people were apprehended in loose firearms operations, search warrant implementations, and other law enforcement activities, while 62 were arrested through police response and other violations.
Aberin said the operation was in response to the order of acting national police chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez to properly manage police operations for policemen to respond swiftly, enforce the law with discipline, and secure safer communities for the public.
By district, the Manila Police District (MPD) recorded the highest number with 65 arrests, followed by the Northern Police District (NPD) with 52, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) with 51, the Southern Police District (SPD) with 48, and the Eastern Police District (EPD) with 46.
“With these operations, we are sending a strong message that criminal elements have no place in Metro Manila,” said Aberin.
“These arrests are not just statistics, but concrete proof that your police respond quickly to ensure the safety of the community,” he added.
