Nanny, 3-year-old girl die in Malabon fire, another child in critical condition

A nanny and a three-year-old girl died while another child remained in critical condition after a fire hit their residence in Barangay Tinajeros, Malabon City, on Tuesday, Sept. 2. 
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the fire started at 12:05 a.m. and was extinguished at 12:38 a.m.
The firemen recovered the bodies of the deceased, with the nanny appearing to have shielded the young child from the fire with her own body.
Meanwhile, a six-year-old girl, who managed to call for help during the incident, was rescued through the house’s terrace but remains in critical condition at the hospital.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire and the amount of damage to property.
