Korean star Cha Eun-woo completes basic military training

K-pop idol and actor Cha Eun-woo completed his basic military training on Sept. 2 after five weeks.
Cha Eun-woo, along with other trainees, attended the graduation ceremony at the Korea Army Training Center (KATC) in Nonsan, South Chungcheong Province in South Korea.
The star led other trainees as a representative during the ceremony. The representative is a role selected based on outstanding leadership and sincere attitude during training, Korean media reported.
Wearing a military uniform, Cha Eun-woo shouted, “Private Lee Dong-min [his real name), reporting. I have received orders to complete training as of September 2, 2025. Salute to the regimental commander.” Cha Eun-woo also sang a military song with the other trainees.
Photos and videos of Cha Eun-woo’s graduation were posted by fans and netizens on X.
Korean netizens were captivated by Cha Eun-woo at the ceremony, commenting, “It’s like filming a movie.”
Cha Eun-woo enlisted in the military on July 28. After the training, he will be assigned to the Army Band.
He will fulfill his military service for 18 months and will be discharged on Jan. 27, 2027.
