ILOILO CITY — Police seized shabu valued at P15.9 million in this city last month.
The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) said 83 drug suspects yielded more than 2.3 kilos grams of shabu.
Thirty-five were classified
as high-value targets (HVTs) and 48 were street-level drug peddlers in the Aug. 1 to 31 anti-drug operations.“These accomplishments highlight the unified efforts of our police and the community against illegal drugs,” said Police Col. Kim Legada, ICPO director.
The City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) had the biggest haul with shabu worth P5.38 million. The CDEU arrested 13 drug suspects.
The joint operation of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit-6 with the city police yielded P1.97-million shabu from seven suspects.
Police Station 9 confiscated P1.36-million shabu from four drug suspects.
Police Stations 6 and 10 recovered P1.25- million and P1.24-million shabu, respectively.
Police Major Shella Mae Sangrines, chief public information officer of ICPO, said other units also contributed to the anti-drug operations.
