Residents of Manila can now access free MRI and CT scan services at the Ospital ng Maynila, following the installation of modern diagnostic imaging equipment that enables faster and more accurate detection of illnesses.
Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno" Domagoso encouraged Manileños to make full use of the machines, stressing that the city government purchased them using the people’s money.
He said, "Nalulungkot ako na parang hindi ito naipaalam sa inyo, please do share, i-avail ninyo, sa inyo 'yun, pera ninyo ang pinambili du'n (I feel sad that this was not well communicated to you, so please share and avail of it because it was bought using your money)."
The mayor added that he would rather see the machines heavily used by the public than kept idle.
"Mas gugustuhin ko na masira 'yan sa kakagamit ng taumbayan kaysa masira nang naka-display lang (I prefer the machines get worn out from public use rather than get damaged while left unused)."
He explained that many people want to be treated but cannot receive proper care without accurate diagnostics, which is why the equipment must be fully utilized.
This free medical service is open to all residents of Manila, and the city government encourages everyone to take advantage of the program and share the information with others.
