Ex-security guard nabbed for frustrated homicide in Mandaluyong
A former security guard who has been evading the law for shooting another man in Makati City was arrested by the Eastern Police District's District Mobile Force Battalion (EPD-DMFB) on Aug. 31, EPD director Brig. Gen. Aden Lagradante said.
Lagradante identified the suspect as alias Jan, 25, a resident of Mandaluyong City. The suspect was also tagged as a Most Wanted Person by the EPD for the crime of frustrated homicide.
According to the police, Jan was arrested in Barangay Wack-Wack, Mandaluyong City, by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by the Makati City RTC Branch 235.
Lagradante said the crime occurred in Makati City on Nov. 15, 2023, when the suspect was still working as a security guard.
The incident report showed that while the suspect was guarding a convenience store, he confronted an unauthorized parking attendant for letting motorists illegally park near the store's premises.
Their discussion led to a fistfight wherein the parking attendant's friend joined him in beating up the suspect.
This prompted Jan to pull out his service firearm and shoot the victim in the back. He quickly escaped after the incident.
The suspect was placed under police custody while the necessary charges are being readied against him.
