Website for flood control complaints can be expanded—Palace

Malacañang said it is possible that the Sumbong sa Pangulo website, which is dedicated for complaints on flood-control projects, can be expanded to gather complaints over other infrastructure projects.

However, complaints on other infrastructure projects, such as road rehabilitation and repair, can only be reported to 8888 for now.
Palace Press Officer and Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro said at present, the website launched by President Marcos last month remains to be solely dedicated to anomalous flood-control projects.
"Yes, of course, as of now, mayroon naman po tayong 8888 na puwedeng i-complain ito dahil sa ngayon po, iyong Sumbong sa Pangulo ay concentrated po sa mga maanomalyang flood control projects (Yes, of course, as of now, we have 8888 where this can be reported because, at present, Sumbong sa Pangulo is focused on anomalous flood control projects)," Castro said in a Palace briefing on Monday, Sept. 1.
The Palace official, however, did not dismiss the possibility for the website to be expanded.
"Pero kung kinakailangan po talaga ng improvement, maaari naman po itong mas maging malawak po para matugunan din iyong ibang mga complaints tungkol sa mga katulad ng sinasabi ninyo pong sitwasyon na buo pa ang kalsada, binubungkal na para pagkakitaan (But if improvements are really needed, it can certainly be expanded to also address other complaints, such as the situation you mentioned where roads that are still intact are being dug up just for profit)," Castro said.
Castro was reacting to the proposal of Senator Panfilo Lacson to also include complaints about other infrastructure projects in the website.
