One of the suspects in the robbery and rape incident in a Pasay City massage parlor surrendered to authorities upon the advice of his live-in partner, police said on Monday, Sept. 1.
Pasay City Police chief Col. Joselito De Sesto presented to Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano the apprehended suspect, Jared, 33, who went to Legazpi City in Albay for a billiard tournament.
Rubiano congratulated De Sesto and his men for locating the suspect after four days of intense manhunt operations.
De Sesto said the police are still conducting a manhunt operation for the arrest of the remaining suspect, Ashley, 23, who was reportedly last seen in Tagaytay City.
He said Jared served as a lookout while Ashley sexually abused two of the 13 massage therapists.
Rubiano said the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) will conduct counseling for the 13 massage therapists.
She also assured the victims of full support, including legal assistance.
The mayor told the police to continue their 24/7 police visibility in coordination with barangay officials and watchmen to ensure peace and order in the city.
Rubiano said the city government will continue to support the local police in their efforts to maintain peace and order in the city.
She said charges of two counts of rape and 11 counts of robbery will be filed against the suspect at the Pasay Prosecutors' Office.
