'My Daughter is a Zombie' tops monthly box office in August in South Korea
The Korean film “My Daughter is a Zombie” topped the monthly box office in South Korea in August.
Starring Jo Jung-suk and Choi Yoo-ri, “My Daughter is a Zombie” sold 4.64 million tickets and grossed $32.12 million in South Korea in August to emerge as the No. 1 movie, based on data from the Korean Film Council (KOFIC).
Since its opening on July 30, “My Daughter is a Zombie” has recorded 5.34 million in total cinema admissions and gross of $36.37 million.
“Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba Infinity Castle Arc” from Japan is No. 2 with 3.15 million in total admissions and gross of $24.43 million.
The American film “F1” is No. 3 with 2.04 million in total admissions and gross of $15.96 million. Since opening on June 25, “F1” has garnered 4.76 million in total admissions and gross of $36.69 million.
The Korean film “The King of Kings” placed fourth with 419,262 in total admissions and gross of $2.84 million.
Another Korean film, “Pretty Crazy,” is in fifth place with 417,259 in total admissions and gross of $2.84 million.
