Also present at the ceremony were Manila City Library Officer-in-Charge Mylene Villanueva, Congressman William Irwin Tieng, Fifth District Councilors Che Borromeo, Bobby Espiritu, Jaybee Hizon, and Mon Yupangco, along with several barangay officials.
The construction of the new library and multi-purpose building is expected to be completed within nine months. It is designed to provide a learning space for students and a safe, meaningful venue for senior citizens.
For students, the facility will offer access to virtual books and other digital assets to support learning and provide an alternative place to stay instead of loitering on the streets. For senior citizens, dedicated spaces will be provided to ensure a safe and purposeful environment.
“Kahit na gipit na gipit na tayo, basta’t ikabubuti ng ating nasasakupan, pipilitin kong iraos ang ating Lungsod ng Maynila (Even if we are struggling financially, as long as it benefits our constituents, I will do my best to keep the City of Manila moving forward), " he said.
