Let these Filipina trailblazers show you what power dressing truly means
Filipina movers and leaders headline Max Mara's latest collection launch party
By John Legaspi
It was John Singer Sargent’s 1889 portrait “Madame X” that inspired creative director Ian Griffiths in designing Max Mara’s pre-fall 2025 collection. Sargent’s canvases often featured aristocrats, artists, and intellectuals. That is why, for the collection’s Philippine unveiling, it was only fitting to have Filipina trailblazers headline the celebration.
Max Mara presented its pre-fall 2025 line on Aug. 19, 2025, at its Greenbelt 3 store, with the support of Filipina movers and leaders. Clad in the latest pieces from the luxury label were MC Geometric Proportions, Inc. co-founder Charmaine Lagman, stylist Cath Sobrevega, Wildflour Group CEO Ana Lorenzana de Ocampo, Moss Manila co-founder Cyndi Fernandez Beltran, and Lunimax vice president Odette Pumaren. Leading the celebration, of course, was Binizio Corporation president Marilou Koa.
Guests were treated to an intimate and stylish preview, surrounded by refined displays that reflected the collection’s emphasis on femininity, bows, and romantic silhouettes. The event also marked the 10th anniversary of the Whitney Bag, a piece that embodies both elegance and modernity—much like the women who carry it.
