Dasmariñas road rage suspect who killed Meralco employee surrenders

The suspect in the road rage incident in Dasmariñas City that resulted in the death of a Meralco employee on Aug. 27 has turned himself in to the authorities.
Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Sec. Jonvic Remulla presented the 44-year-old suspect during a press conference in Quezon City on Monday, Sept. 1.
The suspect reportedly surrendered himself to Imus City Mayor Alex Advincula, who facilitated his endorsement to the police and DILG along with Cavite Gov. Abeng Remulla.
“This is a crime-solved situation,” Remulla said.
"If the local government and the PNP work together, marami tayong malulutas na problema. Dito, ang Mayor, ang Governor, at Barangay Captain, 'yung tatlong sangay ng local government, nagtulungan para makuha ang suspect agad (If the local government and the Philippine National Police work together, we can solve many problems. Here, the Mayor, the Governor, and the Barangay Captain, the three branches of local government, cooperated to immediately apprehend the suspect).”
Police reports stated that on the day the crime was committed, the suspect was driving a red sedan and edged closely beside the company vehicle driven by the victim.
A few moments later, the suspect allegedly shot the victim and fled. The victim was declared dead on arrival at a nearby hospital.
The suspect is now under police custody and is facing murder charges.
Meralco thanked the authorities for their hard work in finding and arresting the suspect in the shooting of their employee.
“We hope that this development will expedite the progress of the case and the trial, so that the suspect may be held accountable under the law,” Meralco Vice President and Head of Corporate Communications Joe Zaldarriaga said in a statement.
“We continue to support and assist the bereaved family of our fellow employee who was killed in this tragic incident. We are one with the family in mourning his death and in the continued pursuit of justice for this tragic incident.”
