'Bon Appétit, Your Majesty' surges, becomes highest-rated tvN drama this year
“Bon Appétit, Your Majesty,” the Korean drama starring Yoona and Lee Chae-min, broke its own record with episode 4 to become the highest-rated tvN drama in South Korea this year.
Episode 4 of the drama aired on Aug. 31 on tvN and achieved double-digit ratings.
According to Nielsen Korea, the latest episode of “Bon Appétit, Your Majesty” achieved a nationwide rating of 11.063 percent in South Korea (peaking to 13 percent), ranking first on paid platforms, which include cable, IPTV and satellite.
This became the highest rating among tvN dramas this year and the first drama of the channel to surpass 10 percent in 2025. The episode also ranked first among all channels in the same time slot.
In Korea’s metropolitan area, “Bon Appétit, Your Majesty” got a rating of 11.419 percent, peaking to 13.6 percent.
The fantasy and romance series tells the story about Yeon Ji-yeong (Yoona), a chef who experiences time slip and meets King Yi Heon (Lee Chae-min).
In episode 4, Yi Heon kissed Yeon Ji-yeong.
The drama's first episode premiered in first place in South Korea with 4.856 percent and rose to 6.642 percent (first place) for episode 2, and 7.589 percent (first place) for episode 3.
On Netflix, “Bon Appétit, Your Majesty debuted at No. 4 on the non-English shows list for the period Aug. 18 to 24 with 3.5 million views. It placed in the top 10 on Netflix in 50 countries and territories.
