BARMM reaffirms partnership with Cotabato in peace, dev't

KIDAPAWAN CITY – Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Chief Minister Abdulraof A. Macacua assured Cotabato province on Monday, Sept. 1, that the regional government remains a steadfast partner in pursuing peace and development.
"BARMM will always be your partner in peace and development," Macacua said in his keynote address during the culmination program of Cotabato's 111th founding anniversary and Kalivungan Festival at the Provincial Capitol Grandstand in Barangay Amas.
Macacua commended Gov. Emmylou Taliño-Mendoza's leadership and advocacy of "Serbisyong Totoo" and described her governance with the principles of "putting people above politics and service above self."
The Chief Minister thanked Cotabato for supporting the Bangsamoro, especially the Special Geographic Area (SGA), that he said plays a key role in regional progress.
"When BARMM rises, so does Cotabato province," Macacua said, recalling that 14 years ago, the province stood behind the peace process that renewed the Bangsamoro's hope. "Thank you for supporting the peace process and sharing in the Bangsamoro's struggle and aspirations."
In her message, Mendoza thanked provincial officials, stakeholders, and residents for their unity and support that made the festival successful.
"You, Cotabateños, are the strength of our province. I am happy to serve you as your governor because Cotabateños are united, God-fearing, and compassionate," Mendoza said.
Vice Gov. Rochella Marie Taliño-Taray said Kalivungan, which means "gathering," is a celebration of identity, culture, and unity.
"Kalivungan means gathering, and that is what we have done these past few days—not only to celebrate but to strengthen our identity and honor our history," Taray said.
Also present at the celebration during the program were third district Rep. Ma. Alana Samantha Taliño-Santos, House Deputy Speaker and TUCP party-list Rep. Raymond Mendoza, local government officials, and regional directors from various line agencies.
