LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – A small aircraft landed safely in a cornfield in Reina Mercedes town, Isabela province on Sunday, Aug. 31, after encountering mechanical trouble en route to Maconacon municipality, Isabela.

All six passengers were safe – Dante, Floremia, Rogelio, Perfecta, Olegario, and Norberto, all residents of Divilacan, Isabela.
Police said the 56-year-old pilot, Alito, who was also safe, decided to make an emergency landing to ensure their safety.
The aircraft departed from Cauayan City Airport in Isabela.
Farmers in the area were surprised when the plane was approaching and ran for their safety.
Nobody among the farmers or residents in the area were killed or injured.
A follow-up investigation is ongoing. The plane remains in the area and awaiting recovery.
