Murky floodwater has claimed the precious book collection of former National Security Adviser Clarita Carlos.
The professor, who in the previous 19th Congress worked as chief policy adviser on security and defense concerns for the House leadership, shared her deep anguish in a Facebook post Saturday, Aug. 30.
"Ngayon : Sino kaya dapat sisihin sa pagkabasa ng mga libro ko at mga kagamitan sa aming office sa Sikatuna Village na tabi ng UP?? (Now : Who should I blame for the damage caused to my books and belongings in Sikatuna Village beside the University of the Philippines??)" Carlos wrote.
The post came with a clip of Carlos' drenched bookshelves.
"Sayang ang mga LIBRO KO!! Sakit sa dibdib… (My books are destroyed!! It's heartbreaking...)" she helplessly said.
The somewhat freakish floods Saturday were observed all over Quezon City, with areas like the UP campus not getting spared. Floods are reportedly uncommon within campus.
