Laguna man killed in shootout with cops after murdering foe

SANTA ROSA CITY, Laguna – A man was killed in a gun battle with police after he shot and killed his long-time foe and a peacemaker on Sunday morning, Aug. 31, in Barangay Labas, this city.
Investigation said the victim Victor was standing when the suspect Nestor armed with a .38 caliber gun arrived and shot him.
The other victim, Dexter, tried to intervene but he was also shot and died on the spot.
Victor ran but the suspect chased and shot him again. He was taken to the hospital where he was declared dead from bulet wounds.
Nestor fired at responding lawmen. Police returned fire and wounded Nestor who was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.
Police said motive of the killing was old grudge.
Follow-up investigation is ongoing.
