Big Hit Music says BTS' Jimin, actress Song Dae-un no longer in a relationship
BTS’ Jimin, 29, and actress Song Da-eun, 34, were in a relationship years ago but they are no longer together.
This was revealed by Big Hit Music, BTS’ agency, after Song Da-eun posted a video on TikTok on Aug. 27 that showed Jimin emerging from an elevator.
Big Hit Music issued the statement as dating rumors between Jimin and Song Da-eun spread online.
Song Da-eun’s video showed her waiting for someone outside an elevator at the posh Nine One Hannam residential complex located in Hannam in Yongsan, Seoul.
When the elevator opened, Jimin emerged.
He said, "What a surprise! Did you know I was coming in? I didn't tell you on purpose." The two walked together.
The video has since been deleted on TikTok but copies spread on social media, including YouTube.
"We did not issue a statement out of respect for Jimin's private life. However, we have come to release our position due to the groundless rumors and reports that have been made surrounding our artists' private lives. We thus release only the minimum facts," Big Hit Music said in the statement issued on Aug. 31, the Korea JoongAng Daily reported.
Big Hit Music revealed, "The artist and the counterpart did form a relationship based on their mutual feelings for one another, but that was many years ago, and the two are not in a relationship as of this moment."
The agency asked people to refrain from making speculations about their private lives.
The dating rumors between the two circulated back in 2022. Last year, the rumors were rekindled when Song Da-eun posted a photo on Instagram showing cases with the names “Daeun” and “Jimin.”
Song Da-eun, born on June 14, 1991, debuted in the drama “Can’t Lose” in 2011. She appeared in season 2 of the reality dating show “Heart Signal” in 2018.
Members of BTS are preparing for their comeback following their completion of their military service.
