Volunteers rescue residents trapped by flood in QC

Volunteers rushed to rescue residents trapped by sudden flooding along NIA Road in Barangay Pinyahan, Quezon City, on Saturday, Aug. 30, after heavy thunderstorms submerged parts of the area.

The Youth in Action for Protection – Batang Tatalon Fire and Rescue Volunteers (BTFRV), led by Councilor Egay Yap, spearheaded the operation and evacuated stranded families to safety.
Despite continuous rainfall, responders remained on alert for possible additional rescue calls as floodwaters threatened more households.
As of this writing, authorities have yet to release the official number of families rescued.
