Maynilad Water Services, Inc. has announced that it will carry out urgent leak exploration and repair works tonight at the intersection of Magsaysay Boulevard and Nagtahan Street in Sta. Mesa, Manila.
According to Maynilad, their leak detection team discovered a significant underground pipe leak in the area that requires immediate attention to prevent road damage and prolonged water service disruptions.
As a result, temporary water service interruptions will affect parts of Manila, Makati City, Pasay City, and Parañaque City starting 8 p.m. on August 30, and may last until 11:59 p.m. on August 31.
The activity involves leak exploration, during which field personnel will locate and expose the exact source of the leak before conducting actual repair works.
Depending on the severity of the damage uncovered, the restoration schedule may change.
A full list of affected barangays and their corresponding interruption schedules will be provided by Maynilad.
Customers are advised to store enough water while supply is still available.
Maynilad will deploy mobile water tankers to deliver clean water to affected areas as needed.
Water discoloration may occur once service resumes.
In such cases, customers are advised to let the water flow until it clears and use the initial flow for non-drinking purposes such as toilet flushing.
Maynilad will issue further advisories if the repair work needs to be extended.
It also expressed its apologies for the inconvenience caused by the ongoing repair works and stated that field teams are working non-stop to complete the repairs at the soonest possible time.
