Filipino tourist dies after collapsing on Hong Kong Disneyland ride
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) confirmed on Saturday, Aug. 30, that a 53-year-old Filipino tourist died while on vacation in Hong Kong.

In a statement, the Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong said that it has received the “sad news” about the death of the Filipino tourist and is now in contact with his next-of-kin.
“The Consulate General, through its Assistance-to-Nationals Section, confirmed the incident with the Lantau Police Headquarters and contacted the next of kin of the deceased to convey our heartfelt condolences and to assist them with the process of repatriating the deceased's remains,” DFA said.
It added that the consulate will continue “to coordinate with the local authorities and institutions concerned,” assuring that it will respect the family's privacy during this time.
According to reports, there were no safety issues with the Frozen Ever After attraction, where the Filipino tourist lost consciousness at around 10 a.m. on Friday.
He was pronounced dead in a hospital at around 11:30 a.m.
The Filipino reportedly has pre-existing health conditions and had fallen into a coma while on the ride. His wife called the attention of the staff after he lost consciousness.
