- If showbiz work ever dries up, there's always a booming career in meme-based infrastructure for Engineer Edu.
Who needs blueprints when you’ve got punchlines?
Actor and TV host Edu Manzano went viral this weekend after flooding Facebook with a string of AI-generated photos of himself as the country’s newest ahem, "engineer-contractor."
Obviously inspired by current headlines, from August 28 to 29, Edu’s feed looked more like a Department of Public Works bulletin board. Only this time, the projects were suspiciously meme-worthy.
“Relax, guys… ako na bahala sa road to forever. Bill, Bill, Bill. 20% semento, 80% kupit,” he wrote in one post, complete with a photo of himself in a hard hat.
He later joked, “Kung dati plot twist lang sa pelikula… ngayon plot hole na sa kalsada.”
The following day, he doubled down on his new “career.”
“Second day at work… pero abot na hanggang second life ang budget ko,” Edu quipped, before reminding everyone to set their priorities: “Hermès muna bago semento.”
Apparently, umbrellas also made it to his infrastructure plan.
“Bruh, payong is the new investment! Kung wala kang Rolls Royce payong, wala kang financial stability,” he declared.
By Saturday, the satire reached peak lifestyle flex.
Edu greeted followers with: “Good morning, mga taxpayers! Just Ladurée, a Rolls-Royce umbrella, and taxpayer money brewed to perfection.”
He even teased a “seminar” on generational wealth. Spoiler: it wasn’t crypto, networking, or franchising.
Just “be like me,” he said.
Netizens were quick to applaud his comedic timing.
Comments rolled in faster than cement bags on bidding day:
“Breadwinner nyo kami not by blood but by flood. ”
“Flood is thicker than tap water.”
“This is, were our taxes GONE.”
With one viral streak, Edu proved two things: he still knows how to steal the spotlight — and if showbiz work ever dries up, there’s always a booming career in err, meme-based infrastructure.
