All is well that ends well.
After exchanging spicy statements last week, Manila 3rd district Rep. Joel Chua and Manila City Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso appear to have buried the hatchet and are ready to move forward for the sake of Manileños.
"Para sa kapanatagan ng ating distrito, minarapat po namin na magusap at isang tabi ang mga hindi pagkakaunawaan. Kami ay magtutulungan para sa mga batang Maynila," Chua said in a Facebook post Saturday, Aug. 30.
(For peace of mind in our district, we deemed it necessary to talk and set aside our differences. We will work together for Manila reaidents)
Chua's post came with a photo of him and Mayor Moreno. The two are former party-mates under Aksyon Demokratiko, up until the time that the solon bolted.
Chua and Moreno swapped tirades last week in connection with the alleged illegal constitution of facilities on Alvarez Street corner Avenida in Barangay 334., Manila. The construction was reportedly Chua's initiative.
Moreno had accused Chua of failing to secure a permit for the project, as well as having no permit for the earlier demolition of structures in the area to pave the way for the project.
The Manila solon fired back by describing the mayor as "all talk" and even mocked his past as a movie star.
But these all seem water under the bridge now, as the two are raring to work together.
