BACOLOD CITY – A 42-year-old man is back in jail for the third time after he was arrested in a buy-bust operation where P6.8 million worth of suspected shabu was recovered in Barangay Sulodpan, Bacong, Negros Oriental on Aug. 27.
Police Lt. Col. Joem Malong, spokesperson of Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR), said the operation was initiated following a tip from a confidential informant regarding Anthony, who was arrested twice by the Dumaguete City Police Station for drug-related offenses.
Seized from Anthony, from Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, were one kilo of suspected shabu, a lighter, and P50,000 in marked money.
Police tagged the suspect as a high-value individual in the illegal drugs trade.
Police Brig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay, PRO-NIR director, said this significantly hampers the operations of drug syndicates in the region.
