K-pop artist Jang Dong-woo finishes 'Connection' solo fan-con tour in Manila

K-pop idol Jang Dong-woo of boy band Infinite completed his first solo fan-con tour in the Philippines. 

Dong-woo held his “Connection” in Manila solo show on Aug. 25 at the SM North EDSA Skydome. 

“It’s been a long time. Since it’s been a really, really long time, I miss your voices,” he greeted the crowd. 

He said he felt the Filipino fans’ passion when he arrived at the airport. 

“Today is extra special. It’s been 10 years. I have been waiting for this moment. To make all the 10 years worth it, I’m going to pour everything tonight,” he said.

Infinite held their “Infinite Effect Live in Manila” concert on Nov. 7, 2015.

During the show, he performed “Perfect,” “Something Between,” “TGIF,” “Gun,” “Special Girl,” “Be Mine,” “Party Girl” and “News.” He also performed the unreleased song “Checkmate (Tic Tac Toe).” 

Dong-woo said he was touched by the meals and presents given by Filipino fans. 

“Every time I visit the Philippines, I’m always bringing back great emotions,” he said. 

Dong-woo debuted in Infinite in 2010 and became the group’s main rapper. He released his first solo album “Bye” in 2019. 

He also forayed into musical theater, appearing in musicals such as “In The Heights,” “Altar Boyz” and “Dream High.” 

During the fan-con, Filipino fans presented a video to show their love and support for him. 

“Salamat sa pagbalik, Dongwoo. Nandito lang kami mga Philippine Inspirits para suportahan ka (Thanks for coming back, Dongwoo. We Philippine Inspirits are here to support you),” fans said in the video. 

Dong-woo said, “Until the day I come back, please remember our Infinite connection.” 

The “2025 Jang Dong Woo Fan-Con Tour in Manila” was organized by D-Show and managed by Three Angles Production.
