Actions speak louder than words: Mayor Isko leads forum on responsible use of social media
Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso urged the city's youth to be more responsible in their use of technology, particularly social media, during a forum organized by the city's Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation and Youth Development and Welfare Bureau (YDWB) on Friday, Aug. 29.
The forum, entitled "TeknoLodi Fest 2025: Lodi sa Digital Literacy," was organized by SK Federation President Yanyan Ibay and YDWB Director John Daniel Layno at the Lyceum of the Philippines University-Manila where Domagoso was the guest of honor.
In his message, the mayor reminded the youth to use social media as a tool to give inspiration to others and promote respect and kindness.
"You must learn how to discern and distinguish what is real and what is not. Kapag nagsimula ka ng tama, matatapos ka ng tama (Once you start doing something right, you will end up with the right result). What matters most is the result," Domagoso said.
He explained that with the changing times, the youth must take advantage of technology to do good things and not add up to the perennial problems society is facing.
The local chief executive assured that the Manila City government is their ally in their desire to be critical, responsible, and caring netizens towards a safe, clean, and meaningful digital world.
