Five persons, including a pregnant woman, were injured after four vehicles collided along the northbound lane of the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) in Meycauayan City, Bulacan, early Thursday morning, August 28.
According to reports, a black vehicle overturned after being hit by a blue car that was reportedly traveling at high speed near the NLEX Meycauayan exit around 3:30 a.m.
The pregnant woman and her husband, who were both injured, were immediately assisted and taken to the nearest hospital, along with three of the six passengers in the black car who sustained minor injuries.
A taxi and a truck were also involved in the accident.
According to the taxi driver, the blue vehicle was speeding, causing it to collide with the black car.
Due to the strong impact, the black vehicle crashed into a truck and a taxi before overturning.
The 22-year-old driver of the blue car refused to give a statement to the media.
The collision caused traffic congestion along the northbound lane of NLEX, with the tail end stretching as far as Paso de Blas in Valenzuela City.
Before 5:00 a.m., NLEX management turned over the damaged vehicles to the Meycauayan City Police Station, and traffic flow returned to normal.
