Refined styling
On the outside, the Xpander receives a new front and rear bumper treatment. On the Xpander GLS variant, the familiar angular Dynamic Shield front remains the same size, but the grille now features fine-groove intake slits, while the upper central section has been given a cleaner appearance. The lower front valance has been reshaped into a more aggressive design while retaining its original outline. On the Xpander Cross, the bumper maintains its overall look but the lower central valance now incorporates gray vertical blocks for a stronger, more rugged presence. The grille pattern has also been revised with more pronounced hexagons for a bolder effect. The Xpander GLS and Xpander Cross both come with new, slimmer LED daytime running lights that create a sharper impression, and fog lamps remain standard on these variants. At the rear, the T-shaped taillights are carried over from the previous model. All versions ride on redesigned black-and-silver machine-cut 17-inch alloy wheels, with the Xpander GLS using a directional multi-spoke design and the Xpander Cross adopting a sturdier tri-spoke style.
Interior enhancements
Inside, Mitsubishi has revised materials and added new technology across the lineup. The Xpander Cross now features a Black and Burgundy interior finished in synthetic leather with Heat Guard technology, while the Xpander GLS comes with premium black fabric upholstery. A beautifully redesigned steering wheel with better switch layout, second-row center headrest, and soft-touch inserts with stitching are also part of the update.
For infotainment, the GLS and Cross variants gain a 10-inch Smartphone Link Display Audio system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. They are paired with an eight-inch LCD instrument cluster that provides clearer driver information with a new, more dynamic-looking interface. Lower variants retain the familiar touchscreen unit but continue to offer smartphone connectivity.
Drivetrain
Among the notable points of continuity is the powertrain. The updated Xpander continues to use the same 4A91 1.5-liter DOHC 16-valve MIVEC gasoline engine paired with a 4-speed automatic. The engine produces 105 PS and 141 Nm of torque and drives the front wheels, maintaining the familiar balance of performance and efficiency that has been a hallmark of the model. The Xpander MPV continues to boast one of the highest ground clearances in its class at 225mm, and retains the robust shock absorber design of the outgoing models.
Added safety and handling features
Among the key new features for 2026 are the Multi-Around Monitor, which delivers a 360-degree view of the vehicle’s surroundings, and Active Yaw Control, designed to improve cornering stability. These additions are exclusive to the GLS and Cross variants.
Variants, pricing, and colors
The updated lineup consists of four models: the Xpander GLX 1.5G MT priced at ₱1,099,000, the Xpander GLX 1.5G AT at ₱1,159,000, the Xpander GLS 1.5G AT at ₱1,259,000, and the Xpander Cross 1.5G AT at ₱1,378,000.
A Quartz White Pearl option adds ₱15,000 to the price. Mitsubishi is also offering nine exterior colors, including three two-tone finishes with black roofs available only on the Xpander Cross variant. These include Green Bronze Metallic with Black Roof, Quartz White Pearl with Black Roof, and Sunrise Orange Metallic with Black Roof.
Top family vehicle choice
Since its arrival, the Xpander has become one of Mitsubishi’s strongest sellers in the Philippines, thanks to its balance of affordability, space, and versatility. The new upgrades further emphasize its role as a dependable family car. MMPC is showcasing the refreshed Xpander and Xpander Cross at the SM Mall of Asia Entertainment Hall from August 29 to 31, 2025, where visitors can experience the updates first-hand.
