Actress Gelli De Belen expressed her fear of undergoing plastic surgery, worrying that an incorrect procedure could deform her face.

During a media conference for the movie "Outside De Familia," directed by Joven Tan, Gelli stated that she has never had plastic surgery.

"Nakakatakot magpagawa. Masakit yata yun eh," Gelli said. "Bilib ako sa iba dahil ang lakas ng loob nila. Paano kung mali. Patay! (It's scary to have it done. It must be painful," Gelli said. "I admire others because of their courage. What if it's wrong? You're dead!)"

Gelli said she was terrified to undergo plastic surgery because they might do something wrong to her face. "Baka mamaya isa na lang mata ka or isa na lang ang butas ng ilong ko. Nakakatakot talaga. (Maybe later you'll only have one eye, or I'll only have one nostril. It's terrifying.)"

Gelli, 52, said she just wanted to age gracefully. "That's the goal—mag-exercise ka. Hangga't kaya mong i-delay (ang aging), i-delay mo. Darating kasi tayo lahat dyan eh. Hope na lang natin na bukod sa kagandahan at maintenance, may na-i-contribute ka sa buhay mo. (That's the goal—exercise. As long as you can delay (aging), delay it. We'll all get there. Let's hope that aside from beauty and maintenance, you've contributed something to your life.)"

Gelli elaborated on her secrets for preserving her youthful appearance, sharing the methods she employs to keep herself radiant.

"Pinipilit ko lang maging maayos ang buhay ko. Kasi, when you look good, you feel good. Inaalagaan ko rin ang sarili para makapagwork pa. (I'm just trying to make my life better. Because when you look good, you feel good. I also take care of myself so I can still work)," said Gelli.

She added, "It's for myself, that's why I try to maintain it. You've got to love yourself."

Young lover

International star Ruby Ruiz has said that she's ready to play a role opposite a young lover.

"Oo. Kayang-kaya ko yan. (Yes! I can do it)," said Ruby when asked if she was ready to play in a movie project opposite a young lover during the same press conference 

Ruby also said, "Basta pwede kong i-arte at bagay naman sa akin ang role, ginagawa ko. Kahit na nga cameo lang eh. (As long as I can act and the role suits me, I'll do it. Even if it's just a cameo.)"

The award-winning veteran actress was asked to name young actors she would consider as possible leading men for future projects.

"Dennis Trillo and Piolo Pascual," she answered. "Sige, mas bata pa (Okay, much younger) Joshua Garcia."

On Dennis, Ruby said: "Nagwagwapuhan ako sa kanya. Halimbawa ganun nga ang plot, malaking factor ang physical (looks). Pwedeng ma-attract ang older woman sa isang attractive young man. Parang ganun. Si Dennis kasi gwapo siya at magaling siya. Ganun din si Piolo at nagagalingan ako sa kanya. (Dennis is good-looking. For example, the plot is like that, physical (looks) are a big factor. An older woman can be attracted to a young, attractive man. It's like that. Dennis is handsome, and he's a good actor. Piolo is the same, and I'm attracted to him."

Ruby added, "Si Piolo matagal ng alam niya na may gusto ako sa kanya. Alam n'ya yan. I find Joshua charming at mahusay umarte. (Piolo has known for a long time that I like him. He knows that. I find Joshua charming and a good actor.)"

"Outside De Familia" is a heartwarming movie about family and friendship. Aside from Gelli and Ruby, the film also stars Sheila Francisco, Luis Alandy, Matet De Leon, Rey PJ Abellana, Peewee O' Hara, and Dwayne Garcia.
