ZAMBOANGA CITY – The Department of Social Welfare and Development has provided assistance worth P2.2 million to families affected by flood and the monsoon rain here.
The Disaster Response Management Division led the distribution of food packs, hygiene and sleeping kits, and family kits in coordination with the City Social Welfare and Development Office.
Four-hundred seven families composed of 1,228 persons staying at the Tumaga Elementary School benefited.
They were from four subdivisions who were displaced by flash flood after the collapse of a perimeter fence of one of the subdivisions due to monsoon rain on Monday.
