QC gov't vows justice for student killed in condo mishap
The Quezon City government extended its condolences to the family of CJ Baldonado, the student who died after being hit by falling debris from a condominium in Tomas Morato on August 12.
"Lubos na nakikiramay ang Lokal na Pamahalaan ng Lungsod Quezon sa pamilya ni CJ Baldonado, na binawian na ng buhay matapos mabagsakan ng palitada (The Local Government of Quezon City extends its deepest condolences to the family of CJ Baldonado, who lost his life after being crushed by a falling concrete slab)," it said in a statement on Wednesday, August 27.
The city government assured the victim’s family and the public that all necessary measures are being undertaken to ensure accountability.
“Tinitiyak namin sa pamilya at sa publiko na gagawin ng Pamahalaang Lungsod ang lahat ng nararapat upang makamit ni CJ at ng dalawa pang batang naapektuhan ng insidente ang hustisya (We assure the family and the public that the city government will do everything necessary to ensure that CJ and the two other children affected by the incident receive justice),” it said.
“Ang Social Services Development Department (SSDD) ay nakikipag-ugnayan na sa pamilya upang agad na maipaabot ang kinakailangang tulong (The Social Services Development Department (SSDD) is already in contact with the family to immediately provide the necessary assistance),” it added.
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) and the local government are finalizing both criminal and administrative cases against those responsible for the accident.
It also pledged to extend full support to the family in pursuing any legal steps they may take.
The local government urged the public to pray for the recovery of the other two children who were also injured in the incident and for strength for their families.
“Ang kaligtasan at kapakanan ng bawat QCitizen, lalo na ng ating mga kabataan, ay nananatiling pangunahing prayoridad ng Pamahalaang Lungsod (The safety and well-being of every QCitizen, especially our youth, remains the top priority of the City Government),” it said.
