'KPop Demon Hunters' becomes Netflix's most popular film; 'Bon Appétit, Your Majesty' debuts in top 10
“KPop Demon Hunters” has bagged the title as Netflix’s most popular film of all time while the new Korean series “Bon Appétit, Your Majesty” debuted in the top 10.
Netflix released the rankings for its weekly Global Top 10 of the most watched films and TV shows on the streaming platform for the period Aug. 18 to 24.
“KPop Demon Hunters” is now Netflix’s No.1 most popular film on its Most Popular English Films list with 236 million views
The most popular list ranks films and shows based on total views in the first 91 days of release on Netflix.
On the weekly chart, “KPop Demon Hunters” is also No. 1 with 25.4 million views, landing in the top 10 in 93 countries and territories, including garnering the No. 1 spot in 32.
On the other hand, “Bon Appétit, Your Majesty,” the new Korean fantasy and romance series starring Yoona and Lee Chae-min, debuted at No. 4 on Netflix’s non-English shows list for Aug. 18 to 24 with 3.5 million views. It placed in the top 10 on Netflix in 50 countries and territories.
“Bon Appétit, Your Majesty” premiered in South Korea on tvN and grabbed first place for its first two episodes.
Episode 1 on Aug. 23 garnered a nationwide rating of 4.856 percent and episode 2 on Aug. 24 received 6.642 percent.
