How Morissette keeps her spark alive

With a career spanning 15 years, Asia's Phoenix Morissette Amon has proven herself not just as a singer but also as an actress.
After notching a number of hit songs, Morissette bagged the best actress plum at the Manila International Film Festival 2025 for her performance in "Song Of The Fireflies."
Is she out to conquer new grounds? Is she saying goodbye to singing?
Not really.
In an exclusive interview with Manila Bulletin Entertainment, Morissette maintained music will always be her core.
"I've always loved music. My parents and my whole family are just very music-oriented. That's the spark. Okay, I want to do this for the rest of my life. And then there's the flame, which to me, that tiny flame is the first opportunity, or every single opportunity that I got to have the many, countless flames that I had," she shared.
The singer also promised not to forsake her loyal fans.
"I have very hardworking fans. I'm very grateful sa kanilang lahat. Honestly, especially in the last couple of years, where it's kind of like I started all over again," Morissette said.
Morissette is over the moon with the continous love and support she receives from fans.
"They do so much. They take the time to be able to support me in this new path that I'm embarking on as well," she added.
Morissette's goal has changed over the years. she doesn't want to be remembered as the girl who sings the high notes. She wanted the audience to know her core: Storytelling and interpreting.
"My core is storytelling. My core is interpreting. My core is bringing the message of the song out there for you guys to understand that. And so I want to make it to the point that kahit hindi ako bumibirit, I'm not doing those high notes people get because I'm interpreting the song or telling the story in the way that I am capable of doing. I want to be remembered for that and not just be a biritera," she said.
Morissette is going to celebrate her 15th year in showbiz via "Ember," a concert happening on Oct. 28, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
According to Morissette, she will be singing songs that helped shape her career over the past 15 years, including "Akin Ka Na Lang" and " Gusto Ko Ng Bumitaw."
"Honestly, I've had this concept for this kind of show matagal na. Like maybe a little after the pandemic in 2021, 2022, na I really wanted to put up a show na kakantahin ko lahat ng original songs ko," Morissette shared.

Despite the roadblocks and challenges along the way, she was able to finally bring to life her concept with the help of GNN Productions and Underdog Music.
"This concert is unlike all the other concerts that I've done because I'm also co-producing it. So I'm not just the singer and the performer. Kailangan ko rin isipin yung sa back end," Morissette added.
"Ember" is under the direction of internationally acclaimed producer and arranger Troy Laureta, who, prior, collaborated with artists like Ariana Grande, David Foster, and Ailee, among many others.
