ILOILO CITY — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has been asked to submit a list of flood control projects in northern Iloilo province.
The Iloilo Provincial Board approved the motion of Board Member Rolex T. Suplico that asked DPWH Regional Director Joel Limpengco to give details of flood control projects in the fifth district.
Suplico called for specific details, including the program of works, names and addresses of contractors, unit price analyses, and bills of quantities.
He called for a probe on flood control projects worth P1.8-billion in his district last week.
While some are listed on the Isumbong sa Pangulo website, Suplico claimed that more than P660-million worth of flood control projects are not yet listed there.
During this week’s session, Suplico slammed the flood control in Ajuy town. Suplico lamented the defective seawall projects in Barangays Barrido, Mangorocoro, and Pili.
However, Suplico refused to amend the resolution he authored expanding it to the entire province of Iloilo.
Instead, Suplico urged his fellow provincial legislators in the four other districts to do their own research and bring it to the legislative body.
