Malacañang said President Marcos continues to trust Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Manuel Bonoan despite the anomalies in the country's flood-control projects.

Palace Press Officer and Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro said on Wednesday, Aug. 27, that Bonoan continues to enjoy Marcos' trust, adding that there is no action related to the DPWH chief at present.
"Sa ngayon, wala naman pong nababanggit na anuman ang Pangulo so kung mayroon mang magiging aksiyon patungkol kay Secretary Bonoan, hintayin na lamang po natin (As of now, the President has not mentioned anything, so if there will be any action regarding Secretary Bonoan, let us just wait)," Castro said when asked about the level of trust and confidence of the President towards Bonoan amid the flood-control mess investigation.
"Pero as of the moment, nandiyan pa rin po ang trust niya (But at the moment, he still has the President’s trust)," she added.
The Palace official also did not confirm if former DPWH secretary Rogelio Singson was indeed receiving offers from Malacañang to serve as DPWH chief under the Marcos administration.
"Sa ngayon po ay itatanong po natin, at bibigyan ko po kayo ng detalye patungkol po diyan (For now, we will be asking about that, and I will give you details about it)," Castro said.
Last week, Singson revealed that there were "feelers" from the Marcos administration as he has been meeting with Marcos to discuss the administration's Integrated Water Resources Management Program.
Singson, however, said that he had already communicated with the current administration that returning to the government "will be farfetched."
