House Senior Deputy Speaker Quezon 2nd district Rep. David “Jay-Jay” Suarez highlighted on Tuesday, Aug. 26 the results of the latest WR Numero Research survey which showed that nearly seven in 10 Filipinos or 68 percent were satisfied with their respective congressional district representatives.
“This survey result underscores the confidence of our people not just in their local representatives, but in the collective leadership of Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez. His steady hand and vision for a Bagong Pilipinas guide the House of Representatives to remain focused on the needs of our communities,” Suarez said in a statement.
He gave these remarks on the WRN Numero survey even as the lawmakers in general were being linked to alleged anomalous flood control projects.
The WRN Numero survey, conducted from July 29 to Aug. 6, 2025, showed 68 percent approval for district representatives, with only 7 percent dissatisfied and another 7 percent unaware who their representative were.
Suarez the strong ratings reflect the importance of constituency support in Philippine democracy.
“The role of a congressman goes beyond lawmaking inside the halls of Batasan. It is about being present in the lives of our constituents — listening to their needs, finding solutions to their daily struggles, and ensuring that government resources are delivered to the grassroots. That is the essence of representation,” the Quezon solon explained.
The House leader added that this bond between the people and their representatives is the foundation of effective nation-building.
“Nation-building begins in every district. When Filipinos feel that their voices are heard and their welfare is protected, it strengthens not only our democracy but also our collective drive to move the country forward,” Suarez noted.
He said the House of Representatives under Romualdez will continue to prioritize measures that uplift the lives of ordinary Filipinos — from lowering food costs to ensuring quality education and healthcare.
“As this survey reminds us, trust is earned by service. Under Speaker Romualdez, the House will remain a true House of the People — responsive, compassionate, and committed to building a stronger nation,” Suarez concluded.
