MPD arrests woman involved in police asset's murder in Sta. Cruz, Manila
The Manila Police District (MPD) announced the arrest of one of the suspects involved in the fatal shooting of a 27-year-old woman in Barangay 312, Sta. Cruz, Manila on Aug. 21.
The police identified the suspect as alias Ponggay, 36.
According to witnesses, the victim was shot twice in the head by an unidentified gunman on Lope De Vega Street, resulting in her immediate death.
MPD Homicide Section chief Major Dave Garcia said the victim was previously an asset of the police, which is one of the possible reasons as to why she was killed.
The mastermind allegedly cannot conduct illegal activities in the area due to the victim's interference.
Ponggay refused to comment on the incident.
Meanwhile, manhunt operations are still ongoing for the arrest of the mastermind and two other suspects, including the shooter.
