CEBU CITY – Flight schedules at the Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) were affected due to runway condition checks.
In an 6:20 p.m. advisory on Tuesday, Aug. 26, the Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority (MCIAA) said “teams are conducting inspections and necessary repairs as quickly and safely as possible, and we are already using the second runway as of this time.”
“Passenger safety remains our top priority. We are closely coordinating with airlines and our terminal operator, ACAC, to minimize disruption,” the MCIAA said.
Despite runway checks, operations at the MCIA were normal.
The MCIAA said the airport secondary runway was opened to accommodate affected flights.
“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and thank all travelers for their patience. We highly encourage passengers to regularly check with their respective airlines for the latest updates,” the MCIAA said.
