Woman attacked by couple and helper after child's taekwondo match in Manila
A woman was injured after being attacked by a couple and their house helper on Monday, August 25, inside the Ninoy Aquino Stadium at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Malate, Manila.
According to reports, the incident stemmed from tensions during a taekwondo competition, where the victim’s child competed against the child of the couple who were also present at the venue.
Authorities said the victim’s child won the match, prompting the mother to quietly expressed a prayer of thanks.
However, this act reportedly offended the couple and their household helper, who allegedly shouted at and cursed the woman.
As the victim was about to leave the venue, she was confronted and shoved by the suspects, resulting in injuries. The trio immediately fled after the assault.
The victim sought police assistance and filed a complaint.
The case has been referred to the Manila Police District’s General Assignment and Investigation Section (GAIS) for follow-up investigation.
