The municipal government of Moises Padilla in Negros Occidental officially opened a new facility aimed at supporting abused women and children as well as individuals facing personal crises.
Municipal officials led by Mayor Ella Celestina Garcia-Yulo and husband, Vice Mayor Felix Mathias Yulo III, led the recent inauguration and blessing of the Municipal Crisis Center officiated by Rev. Fr. Gabriel Moncada and Rev. Fr. Jose Gerson Te-ad.
The center will serve as a safe haven for women and children who are victims of abuse or in need of assistance.
According to the local government, the facility with a project cost of P3.7 million was funded through the town’s 20 Percent Development Fund.
The Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) headed by Kersey Sumadhay will oversee the center’s operations and management.
Vice Mayor Yulo emphasized the importance of the new facility, calling it a vital service for the people of Moises Padilla, especially during times of hardship and emergencies.
“This is a significant lifeline and an added service for our constituents. Through this, we aim to provide more responsive and compassionate public service,” he said.
